Urban Grower Success Micro-Grant

Ready to Grow? Apply for a Micro-Grant

ACCD is now offering the Urban Grower Success Micro-Grant, a funding opportunity created in partnership with Grow Pittsburgh, Pasa Sustainable Agriculture, Hilltop Urban Farm, Chatham University, and the Pittsburgh Food Policy Council to support urban growers in Allegheny County.

Whether you're running an urban farm business or growing a community garden, this grant can help take your work to the next level.

Funding ranges from $500 to $8,000 and can support a variety of project needs, from improving infrastructure and soil health to purchasing supplies, developing skills, or expanding educational opportunities in your community.

Micro-Grant Overview

Purpose of Funding: These funds are available to assist those individuals, organizations, and/or community-based groups already active in urban agriculture. Successful projects must fill a perceived need in support of urban agriculture and food systems in Allegheny County.

ACCD is a cooperator of the USDA Urban and Innovation Agriculture Grant, a funding opportunity that supports the USDA Farm Service Agency’s (FSA) broad definition of urban agriculture, including farming and growing activities within urban areas. This USDA investiment is in collaboration with To Improve Mississippi Economics, Inc. (TIME Inc.).

About Micro-Grants: Micro-grants are small, one-time-only, awards given to eligible producers for short-term projects.

This is a partial reimbursement grant; applicants can request an advance payment of 70% of the proposed budget and final payment of 30% upon completion of the project.

Micro-grant dispersement is dependent on USDA and To Improve Mississippi Economics (TIME) Inc's continued administration of the grant. If USDA or TIME Inc discontinues the grant or grant reimbursements, micro-grants will not be dispersed.
