Bring your soil to Grow Pittsburgh's Garden Resource Center to have it tested for lead and arsenic by Allegheny County Conservation District. These two contaminants are common in urban soil and are bad for health, so check the soil in your yard and garden areas to be safe.
Choose between two drop-off windows for soil samples:
- Friday October 21 from 3 pm – 6 pm
- Saturday October 22 from 10 am – 1pm
After you register, ACCD will contact you with detailed instructions on how to prepare, label and drop-off your soil samples. Results will be sent to you within two weeks, along with information to help you understand and act on your results
